During a family reunion on the Costa del Sol on the south coast of Spain, we explored the old town of Marbella.
Here are my favourite clues and signs from that excursion.
6. Ancient Means Challenging
Whenever we explore any town, it is a good idea to pay attention to both the local geography and the history. In this case the name gave the first clue: Old Town. The older a town or city is, the tougher the navigation in one important way: it will be all twists and turns, making it quite confusing until we get our bearings.
5. History Makes a Map
History can help make sense of a confusing situation.
The oldest part of the town was built around the 10th Century Arabic fortress.
