The Meaning of Ice Patterns

If we look closely at ice we will often find patterns and patterns in nature always have meaning.

In the photo above there is an example I spotted recently.

FERNS MEAN SLOW FROST

In the picture above we can see fern patterns in ice on a car windscreen. Shapes like this are a sign that the water froze slowly – dew formed and then cooled overnight. In other words it fell below zero between sunset and sunrise.
