Was this tractor heading towards us or away from us?
Spoiler Alert 🙂
Tractors gain more traction with a ‘backwards’ herring-bone tread on their tyres. This leaves a counter-intuitive pattern in the mud. We see chevrons that look very like arrows. This can trick our brain into thinking we see evidence of the tractor having headed in a certain direction, when in fact it was heading the opposite way.
Answer: this tractor was heading towards us.
