A path through the woods with fog and green plants.

Our Great Yorkshire Life

In this episode, natural navigator Tristan Gooley leads former Emmerdale stars Matt Wolfenden and Roxy Shahidi into Yorkshire’s Nidd Valley for a crash course in reading the landscape. With no maps or GPS, he shows them how to find their way using nature’s clues: the flow of rivers, the placement of certain flowers, and the lopsided growth of trees. Then the real test begins. Gooley blindfolds the pair, leads them deep into dense forest, and leaves them there. Their task is to find their own way back to the town of Pateley Bridge, using only what they’ve just learned.
