Urban Fox Signs

My thanks to everyone who came to my talk at the Cruising Association last week. For news about upcoming talks, please subscribe to my free newsletter at the bottom of this page.

Check out the fox in the video above, I filmed this on my way home from the talk.

It appears to have learned road-crossing skills.

Watch its ears closely and you can tell the moment when it realises it needs to be wary of both the threats ahead – the busy road – and the strange creature tracking it with an iPhone – me!

Foxes are used to following linear features in the wild, like streams and woodland edges, so adapting to city streets is childs’ play for them in navigation terms. It definitely knows where it is going.
