The Sun is Now Over the Southern Hemisphere

This morning I headed out early into the hills. It was strangely satisfying to watch the sun rise south of east for the first time since the March Equinox.

The Earth has reached the point in its orbit where the Sun is now over the Southern Hemisphere.

Yesterday, it was the September Equinox and for a passing moment, the Sun was directly over the Equator. The day before it was over the Northern Hemisphere.

The next time the sun is over the Northern Hemisphere will be March again.
