My thanks to Nik Huggins for coming on a course and for this kind feedback.
Hope you’ve enjoyed a week or more of navigating (and writing) since we met on the 4th.
I just wanted to drop you a line to say a huge, heart-felt thank you.
The course was one of the most enjoyable things I’ve ever done! It was lovely to get a chance to learn at your knee and put some of the wonderful knowledge in your books into practice. Your whole approach to the outdoors has really opened my eyes to signs and clues I would have blindly brushed past or trampled over in days gone by. It’s been a genuine revelation! I’ll continue to get out there and expand my knowledge with every hike, stroll or potter down to the shops.
I’ll leave you with a picture from Glen Shiel, Highlands – where I was lucky enough to spend this past weekend with some friends, hiking, wild camping and putting some of the NN skills into practice!
I did take a map and compass for insurance – but please don’t judge me, it’s still early days!
Looking forward to reading the new book.
All the best,
PS. Keep taking the map and compass – I still do. Taking them and staring at them are different things 🙂
