Water Signs

For readers of ‘How to Read Water‘ there are a couple of images you might enjoy below.

The first shows a dog admiring a starboard navigation mark. There are unusual sand ripples next to the water too, a combination and ‘rill marks’ and evidence of strong currents.

Notice how the colour of the water gets lighter with distance, eventually merging with the sky.

The picture below shows the topography of a typical beach.

The beach ‘face’, ‘step’, ‘trough’ and ‘bar’ can all be clearly seen by looking from right to left. The dark line of flotsam and scattered coarser shingle marks the ‘step’.

The sand ripples show where waves have been breaking and how there have been currents moving parallel to the beach in the trough too.
