After giving a talk to a lovely audience at the Poly in Falmouth last week, I stopped at that famous haunt of smugglers, Jamaica Inn, before exploring Bodmin Moor.
I knew the wonderful novel of the same name by Daphne du Maurier was named after this historic pub, but I had not realised that she was inspired to write the book after getting lost in fog on the moor.
I tried to get lost on the Moor in mist, but failed on this occasion. Perhaps I will have better luck next time. I did at least manage to wander into a marsh.
