Another Bump in the Road to Natural Navigation

2009-09-15

A new company, GloPos, is claiming to have developed technology that allows mobile phones to determine location more accurately than GPS, but without using GPS. Instead each handset sends data to a server and then uses special software to fix its position. One big advantage it might have over GPS is that it does not require a clear view of the sky and can in theory work indoors, even underground. The Royal Institute of Navigation website has more.

They need not have invested so much time, effort or money, all of this new technology will be consigned to history soon as the world shifts back to natural navigation.
